CAMRA SO – come join us on August 19th!

Sunny summer greetings CAMRA SO Members!

Hoping everyone is enjoying their summer, especially on the smoke free days! We have some news items of interest to share including a local event coming mid-month, so mark your calendars and we sure hope to see you there!

HAPPY HOUR @ The Nest – a CAMRA SO Event – Thursday, August 19th

Let’s get together! Randy at The Nest in Penticton recently brought in a new draft beer system and needs some help to break it in! Come out to enjoy some craft beer and beer fellowship.

Join us on Thursday, August 19th from 5-7pm at The Nest. Randy will have a couple of special beers on for the event, including a beer from Neighbourhood Brewing that is exclusive for this event, and a keg from North Basin Brewing in Osoyoos.

There is no charge to attend, just pay for whatever you order. There will be special event pricing for the beer, food specials, plus some door prizes.

We’ll have a section of tables reserved for our group. Please indicate you are “going” on the Facebook event so we can have an idea of number of attendees.

Bring a friend who likes craft beer, and enjoy catching up with other CAMRA SO members! Find all details here: August Event at The Nest

Also, Okanagan College is interested in what other kind of craft beer education we might be interested in. If you have any ideas, please reply to this email.

The points add up on the BC Ale Trail App!

The BC Ale Trail app now has 18 point collection locations in Penticton, plus with all of the new brewery options in Kelowna, they also have 18 point collection spots in Kelowna. And if you’re travelling elsewhere around BC check out the BC Ale Trail Explore information and maps for other regions in the province. If you haven’t downloaded the BC Ale Trail app yet, download it and start collecting points every time you visit these locations. Those points can add up quickly, and they can be used for some cool discounts and swag!

Calling all beer glass collectors!

CAMRA SO is helping Stephen Beaumont (the Toronto beer writer) to spread the word about his sister’s online auction of a collection of beer glasses. They’re in Vancouver so arrangements would need to be made to get them from there.
Proceeds from the sales are being donated to Pacific Assistance Dogs so it’s for a good cause. See this link for all the details:  https://beaumont4.wixsite.com/beerglasses.
